I understand that not everything the US military does is honorable, but this is the same for every military organization. Russia, China, the UK...their armed forces all have something a member's done to be ashamed of. Same for every other country.
So why target just the US army? Why not criticize every military organization? This website makes it look like the American military is evil (whether or not it is is up to debate) but if it is evil, then by these standards every military is. If that's the case, this website should be devoted to preventing people from enlisting EVERYWHERE, and not just the US. I'm almost 100% sure the benefits you get for enlisting in the US are better than say, the benefits you get for being enlisted in Russia and the rest of the countries (read: all of them) mentioned above.
This site comes off as purely anti-American; It's like some anti-American bigot wrote this website. Half of the section of "About the Army" is about how the American military is supposedly the least liked in the world, and if you enlist you're pretty much a pawn to be used by corrupt leaders. Hell, the entire site seems like one big propaganda poster. "The Army doesn't care about you." "Training won't help you get a civilian job." "The Army offers you very little money for college." Where's the proof for this? Where are the sources?
Then there's the outright lies this website has:
"If you don't enlist, you can easily get civilian financial aid through Federal Student Aid, which will pay up to your entire tuition."
PFFT, yeah, right.
"The Army also offers you very little money for college and the chance to make 12% to 15% less money than if you hadn't enlisted."
Where's the proof? How much is "very little money"? Why aren't there exact figures?
Is it because this website is a load of shit? Why yes, it is.

Propaganda is the root of all evil
You guys really have NO CLUE what the hell the military is about. huh? *snort* I DID apply for FASFA and I couldn't get a DIME because I was a middle class white girl. But now, in the military, I have a job that could make me over 50k a YEAR in the civilian world and am working on my Assosiates Degree free of charge. Not to mention the 160k in GI Bill I can use at my need, as lo0ng as I work for them for eight mesly years. Also, I know of MANY people who joined, got out and have a job that makes them ALOT of money. Oh, I forgot to add the fact that I have more friends in the military then the civilian world, and I can trust these people with my life. Get you facts straight and I suggest you change you site layout you plagering chickens. Oh, and don't worry about loosing your freedom of speech that you express so freely here, me and my battles got you covered.
that's just you
Hey, it's great that you know people who joined the military, survived, and got decent jobs. There definitely are people like that.
But there are also people who join the military and are killed in war.
Or who come home disabled and receive insufficient care and support from the VA.
Or who come home with ptsd or mental problems and can't relate to their friends and family at home.
Or who come home and don't have any skills to get a civilian job, so they have to get a shit job, 'cause they haven't been building up their resume.
I know this because I know people this has happened to, just like you know people that had everything go fine.
You were lucky that joining the military worked for you, but many other people aren't so lucky. So good for you, but try caring about them and what they stand to lose by taking such a big risk.
You beleive that?
I personally have to say that already i'm mad that you would even ask a stupid question like that. Are you taking a look at this site? Listen, before you get off subject tell me do you seriously think that we would have any right to be stoping other armys while we still have ours? We need to make an example to the rest of the world that we can stop and that we can be more than fat, annoying, and murderous consumers. So next time you want to ask a stupid question just think. Do I have the right to say that we should stop other countries that need our support while i'm sitting here doing absolutly nothing.
Why do we focus on the US
Why do we focus on the US Armed Forces and not those of foreign powers? Because we are U.S. citizens, and it is our right and duty to criticize our own government. It is not our place to pass judgment on the governments of other countries, that is for their citizens to do.
If we were anti-American, why would we voice concern over the exploitation of Americans?
You will find numerous sources hyperlinked from within the articles of this site. The point of this site is not to be the end all source of information about the misdoings of the U.S. Armed Forces, it is here to get people interested in the subject. You are free to research and refute our claims with any information you find. We hope that you do this and start some stimulating intellectual conversation in these forums. That is what they are here for.
